Proverbs 1:28

The book of Proverbs gives us insights into so many different areas of life. The book gives us instruction on how to live our lives for God. Here is a proverb that gives us insight about what happens when those who reject God, call upon God:

Proverbs 1:28 (ESV)

Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer;

they will seek me diligently but will not find me.

This may be the saddest Proverb of all those that Solomon wrote. Imagine someone looking for safety and security and failing to find it. Solomon tells us that those who live without God will some day need Him, but He will not be available. God is searching for man. But man is too busy to give any attention to God. This proverb tells us that someday man will search for God, but God will no longer available for man. Have you ever needed someone quite badly and when you called them on the phone they didn’t, or wouldn’t answer? Can you imagine dialing 911 on your phone and having no one respond? That is the plight of those who live their lives without God and then suddenly have an emergency and call Him. Respond to Him and He’ll respond to you.
