Proverbs 15:2

Proverbs 15:2 (NASBStr)
The tongue of the wise makes knowledge acceptable,
But the mouth of fools spouts folly.

Some times it is not the what you say, but how you say it.   Some times it is not how you say it, but what you say.  In the above proverb, it is both!   In the first line of the proverb Solomon is telling us that someone who has great content (wisdom) will also have the wisdom to say it and proclaim it in the right way, so as to entice others to accept it.    The tongue of the wise uses wisdom both as the curriculum and the conduit.   There are many who have wise things to say but they are so coarse in their speech they fail to gather any hearers.  Those who wish others to drink from their well ought to spend as much time cultivating the path to the well as they do purifying the contents of the well.    On the other hand, the contrast of the first line is seen in the second.   Foolish people tend to simply "spout" out their folly.  In another proverb we have stated that "empty barrels make the most noise."  Here, too, that truth is bellowed.   Folly is never hard to find as it lacks content and is void of tact.   The foolish are easy to spot as they use their mouth as the light house to their empty souls.  When you around either the foolish or the wise you will know the difference between each.   Just listen to what they say and how they say it.
