Proverbs 8:20 (ESV)
I walk in the way of righteousness,
in the paths of justice,
You have to love chapter eight of Proverbs. The chapter gives us a narrative from the voice of Wisdom. Wisdom is telling us her advantages. In this particular proverb we hear her tell us that if we follow her, things are going to happen. The first line of the proverb is telling us that as we walk with Wisdom, our walk will be according to righteousness. The second line informs us that our walk will be in a way that we can be assured we are on the path of justice. The entire path is “just” as we walk in wisdom. Think about this description of life. When we walk with wisdom, we are in a place that is right and a place where justice is king. A place where wrong is treated according to justice. A place where we can know that when we walk we will be pleasing to God. Wisdom (Christ) leads us in the way we should go. By faith we follow her voice and by faith we experience her benefits. This is not something we choose. Wisdom is a person we follow in faith. Don't get lost in the concept that we do something here. Be simply believe Wisdom and follow her in faith. She leads us the right way. Christ is wisdom according to 1 Corinthians 2. Solomon, years before the Son of God’s incarnation, is telling us the beauty of walking with Christ. We walk in righteousness and in justice.
